In these dark days we are in the greatest need of studying the life of this man. Not because it is the life of a man who sacrificed himself and died a martyr at the hands of colonialism, but because it is a life whose soul was faith in Allah, whose outward form was a relentless, unyielding struggle against the oppressor, and whose provision was endless patience and endurance… Even when the earth, vast as it is, closed in on him and people lost all hope, his faith was stronger than iron… and firmer than the mountains. A life that has been immortalized because its owner believed in people’s right to live free, and preferred what is with Allah to what is with people!
